WKU assistant resigns.

Offensive tackles/tight ends coach AJ Pratt has officially resigned as an assistant coach at Western Kentucky University in information released by WKU today.

He will be taking a high school teaching job citing wanting to spend more time with the family as well as health issues for the departure. This is a rough time to lose a coach as WKU's camp starts in a little over 3 weeks on the 6th of August.

This is the second coach with WKU ties in recent weeks to take a teaching job in the commonwealth as former WKU head coach David Elson took a job as a teacher and defensive coordinator for Franklin-Simpson High School in Franklin. Pratt will be taking his teaching job in Allen County and it is not yet known if he will be doing any coaching at the high school.

  1. Was Pratt an Elson hire?

  2. No, he was a Taggert hire brought in during January of 2010 after spending 11 years as a Kent State assistant.
