The Mean Green head into national signing day with the 98th ranked class in the nation according to 247 sports. North Texas is ranked 10th in the stacked Conference USA recruiting battle. 21 players make up the class with 15 of those commits coming from in-state Texas schools while 4 other states make up the 21 players. The Mean Green is looking to make this class an important one with 8 players coming from the JUCO ranks ready to compete for playing time immediately.

2014 was a tough year for the Mean Green as they went 4-8 on the season and a disappointing 1-4 versus fellow Texas programs. Their only win versus an in-state college was a dominant win over SMU early in the season. UNT must figure out how to play on the road as they were unable to secure a single road win on the season, going 0-6 outside the confines of Denton. The Mean Green look to prove that a nine-win season in 2013 was not a fluke in trying to break .500 this fall.
