More BYU scheduling notifications (renewal of Utah State series)

Being an independent is a new experience for BYU and it involves scheduling more than ever. Well, one of their scheduling mainstays is going to be there through 2015. Utah State agreed to a home and home renewal through 2015 allowing what was once a conference rivalry to become just a regualr rivalry.

Any time the in state school raises its profile, the lower tier teams appreciate the opportunity to get a shot at the new big boy on the block. BYU is the new bully and the Aggies of Utah State will continue to get that marquee win that will get more people throughout the nation looking out west and wondering, "are they for real out there?"

I love that BYU is now more big time but does not seem to have lost their small school spirit and understand the struggles that many non big 6 teams have in scheduling a home and home with the big boys. Not everyone can be a Boise and play in the season openers versus the big boys.

BYU has to be commended for keeping an in state rivalry going when pressure had to be to add a higher profile team to the schedule.
