Three CMU players kicked off team, face drug charges.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Three Central Michigan players, including a prep star who transferred from Michigan, have been kicked off the football team after being charged with crimes.

Coach Dan Enos released a statement Wednesday saying the players violated rules for good conduct. They are running back Austin White of Livonia, tight end Joe Sawicki of Mokena, Ill., and receiver Daniel Harris of Miramar, Fla.
White and Sawicki are charged with possessing hallucinogenic mushrooms and operating a drug house in their dorm room. Harris is charged with stealing a phone from a car.
White couldn't play last season after transferring from Michigan. Sawicki didn't play. Harris was a walk-on who joined in January.
Campus police chief Bill Yeagley says a lawyer is arranging White's surrender on drug charges.
