Week 2 Rankings: Top 10


1. Brigham Young (1-0)--The BYU Cougars cruised to a 30-6 victory of the Washington State Cougars holding Washington State to two field goals. BYU passed for 303 yards in the season opener with 3 touchdowns. Previous: Defeated Washington State 30-6, Next: Weber State.

2. Ohio (1-0, 0-0)--Coming back from an 11-point halftime deficit, the Bobcats completely dominated Penn State in winning 24-14 on the road. Quarterback Tyler Tettleton threw for 324 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season. Previous: Defeated Penn State 24-14, Next: New Mexico State.

3. Louisiana Tech (0-0, 0-0)--The season opener for the Bulldogs was postponed due to Hurricane Issac and will be played October 13th. Previous: Postponed versus Texas A&M, Next: @Houston.

4. Boise State (0-1, 0-0)--Boise State Struggled to a 17-13 loss over a very talented Michigan State squad on the road Saturday night. The Broncos ended the game with 206 yards and no offensive touchdowns during the game. Previous: Lost to Michigan State 17-13, Next: Miami OH.

5. Nevada (1-0, 0-0)--The Nevada Wolfpack dominated California on the road and held on for the 31-24 win to start the season. The Wolfpack ended the game with 450 yards of total offense and 4 rushing touchdowns. Previous: Defeated California 31-24, Next: South Florida.

6. Arkansas State (0-1, 0-0)--Arkansas State ran into a buzzsaw in Eugene, Oregon to start the season giving up 50 points in the first half before losing 57-34. Quarterback Ryan Aplin ended the game with 304 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. Previous: Lost to Oregon 57-34, Next: Memphis.


7. Southern Miss (0-1, 0-0)--Southern Miss struggled replacing several key players from last season's Conference USA champions 49-20 behind 354 yards passing and 5 touchdowns from Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez. The Golden Eagles ended the game with 75 yards passing on the day. Previous: Lost to Nebraska 49-20, Next: East Carolina.

8. Toledo (0-1, 0-0)--The defensive woes from last season reared their head in the season opener for the Rockets losing to Arizona 24-17 in overtime but giving up 624 yards of total offense to the Wildcats. The Rockets gave up 5.8 yards per carry. Previous: Lost to Arizona 24-17 OT, Next: @ Wyoming.

9. Tulsa (0-1, 0-0)--After scoring 16 points in the opening quarter and holding a 9-point lead over Big 12 foe Iowa State, the Golden Hurricanes were outscored 31-7 in the final three quarters in the 38-23 loss. Cody Green threw for 198 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game. Previous: Lost to Iowa State 38-23, Next: Tulane.

10. Northern Illinois (1-0, 0-0)--While the defense gave up a disappointing rushing touchdown late in the 4th quarter in losing to Iowa 18-17, it was the offense that let the Huskies down in their season opener. Quarterback Jordan Lynch ran for 119 yards but only passes for 54 yards on the day. Previous: Lost to Iowa 18-17, Next: UT Martin.
