With home games versus Texas, Georgia Tech, Boise, and Utah as well as road trips to Virginia, Utah State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and Nevada, this seems to be the single most ambitious Non-AQ schedule I have ever seen. Notre Dame and Wisconsin in November? At least the Cougars put an open week between a home game versus Boise and a road trip to Wisconsin.
While the likelihood of running the table on this schedule is very very low, the opportunity to play for a championship is right there with this schedule.
All of these BCS rankings are before bowl games, AP and Coaches after bowls:
- Notre Dame--BCS #1, AP #4, Coaches #3
- Texas-- BCS #23, AP #19, Coaches #18
- Utah State-- BCS #22, AP #16, Coaches #17
- Boise State-- BCS #19, AP #18, Coaches #14
- Wisconsin-- Played in the Rose Bowl
- Virginia-- 4-8 in 2012 with wins over Penn State and Miami
- MTSU-- 8-4 in 2012 with 21-point win over Georgia Tech
- Georgia Tech-- Sun Bowl win over USC
- Nevada-- 7-6 with appearance in the New Mexico Bowl
