According to 247 Sports, the RedHawks have the 82nd ranked recruiting class in the nation and the third ranked class in the MAC. The Miami coaching staff spared no expense in finding recruits from 11 different states to make up their recruiting class. The largest majority came from in-state as Ohio products made up four of the 19 overall recruits with the Southeast a priority for the recruiting classes. The RedHawks ended with 9 three-star recruits, making their percentage one of the highest among teams not in the Big 5.

The RedHawks struggled in 2014 to a 2-10 record that saw the team improve in the final 7 games of the season after a terrible 0-5 start. The low point of the season was a 17-10 loss to FCS program Eastern Kentucky as part of the 0-5 start to the season. Miami is looking to find some of the magic lost last season and get back to a bowl game and this impressive recruiting class should help.
