With only days until national signing day, New Mexico State has been unable to gain any traction in the recruiting game and currently sit at 122nd in the nation according to 247 sports. The Aggies currently have the 9th ranked class in the Sun Belt with only Georgia State and Idaho trailing in the rankings. NMSU has 21 commits as of today but only three players are ranked 3-star or higher. The Aggies have three JUCO transfers on the offensive side of the ball that could improve the Aggies offense if they are able to acclimate to the FBS level of college football.

NMSU struggled in 2014 in their first year back in the Sun Belt to a 2-10 record and only one Sun Belt Conference win. The season started well for the Aggies with wins over Cal Poly and Georgia State in back to back weeks. That luck was short lived as the Aggies dropped the final 10 games of their schedule to fall to 2-10 on the season. IN only three of the 10 losses were the Aggies able to stay within 10 points of their opponents.
