The AAC schedule is full of non-conference games that will pique national interest for great story lines and just overall good football. Here is a look at some of the best non-conference AAC games this fall. **This list is in no particular order.**
Non-conference:
- Penn State at Temple: The first chance for Temple to prove that the offense can give some help to the impressive Owls defense. An in-state matchup versus a P5 team at home should be a great game.
- Houston at Louisville: Getting the Cardinals in what used to be a more common matchup, this is a chance for Houston to make a name on the national stage.
- East Carolina at Florida: A rematch of the Birmingham Bowl of 2014, East Carolina and Florida should have two of the better defenses in the nation.
- UCF at Stanford: Central Florida tends to serve the conference well in these cross country games versus P5 opponents. Stanford is ripe for the upset if UCF can show some offensive improvement.
- Memphis at Bowling Green: Two surprise teams last season, Memphis looks to show in a G5-G5 matchup that last season was not a fluke.
- Virginia Tech at East Carolina: The Pirates pulled the upset on Virginia Tech and the Hokies look to return the favor in this P5-G5 game.
- Texas State at Houston: Sun Belt versus AAC with these two in-state programs, Houston must prove that the upstart Bobcats can't hang this fall.
- Miami (Fla.) at Cincinnati: An old Big East matchup, the Bearcats have high hopes heading into the season versus a Miami squad that needs to put up a good season this fall.
- Air Force at Navy: Part of the Commander-In-Chief trophy games, Navy wants to bring the trophy back to Annapolis but must best the Falcons in this old rivalry.
- East Carolina at Brigham Young: Making the cross country trip to Provo, Utah will be quite the chore for East Carolina. Coming out with a win versus a BYU offense led by Taysom Hill is even tougher.
- Navy at Notre Dame: Another historic matchup, the Midshipmen head to a highly ranked Notre Dame squad looking to put the second half of the 2014 season out of their minds.
- Cincinnati at Brigham Young: Another AAC making the trip to BYU, the Bearcats will have to be at the top of their game versus the Cougars in Provo.
- Mississippi at Memphis: Two programs separated by only a couple of hours, this game has seen some exciting endings in the past. Expect Memphis to hold their own versus this P5 program.
- Vanderbilt at Houston: Hosting an SEC program of any type is a big deal but this turns into a must win game for Houston in order to gain some respect nationally.
- Army at Navy: Army versus Navy. Do I really need to say anything else?
