The MAC schedule is full of non-conference games that will pique national interest for great story lines and just overall good football. Here is a look at some of the best non-conference MAC games this fall. **This list is in no particular order.**
Non-conference:
- Oklahoma State at Central Michigan: It is very rare for a Big 12 program as established as the Cowboys to make the trip to Mount Pleasant to face the Chippewas. Oklahoma State and Central Michigan face off for the first time in a battle of 2014 7-6 teams.
- Michigan State at Western Michigan: Facing off for the fourth time since 2009, the Broncos play host to Michigan State in the early season game. Michigan State has won the last nine meetings dating back to the 1919 season, a 21-18 win for Western Michigan. The Broncos should make it interesting with a powerful offense.
- Old Dominion at Eastern Michigan: Old Dominion is the toughest team in Conference USA to figure out and have the task of playing an improved EMU team in this early season matchup. The Eagles have lots of experience on defense but must show enough improvement on offense to become a team to watch this fall.
- Bowling Green at Tennessee: A nationally televised game in a neutral stadium with an experienced team to start the season, everything is ripe for Bowling Green to make a statement in week one. Tennessee is everyone's darling as a dark horse SEC East champion but will have their hands full with a BGSU team desperately wanting an upset win.
- Western Michigan at Georgia Southern: The Georgia Southern Eagles are a tricky non-conference opponent with their explosive rushing attack led by Matt Breida that led the nation in 2014. The Broncos make the trips to Statesboro in a Sun Belt-MAC matchup.
- Cincinnati at Miami: The Bearcats are coming off of an AAC title and are expected to be one of the top G5 teams in the nation but will be heading to face Miami on the road. Miami will have the chance to make a statement but it will be hard with an offense as explosive as Cincinnati's.
- Iowa State at Toledo: This is one of those games that is ripe for a MAC over G5 program as Iowa State is struggling and Toledo is on the upswing. The Rockets rushing attack should be enough to keep them in the game and if the defense shows up, an upset is in order.
- Memphis at Bowling Green: Bowling Green was not playing around with their non-conference slate with attacking the state of Tennessee. The only thing missing is a trip to MTSU to have a chance at the trifecta. Memphis is good but will need to prove 2014 was not a fluke. The Tigers have one of the hottest young coaches that will soon end up at a P5 program in Justin Fuente.
- Arkansas State at Toledo: A rematch of the offense filled GoDaddy Bowl of 2014 that Toledo pulled away to win. There will be very little defense in this game and it will be fun to watch Fredi Knighten and the Red Wolves offense go up against Kareem Hunt and the Rockets offense.
- Northern Illinois at Boston College: In the long tradition of NIU quarterbacks, Drew Hare is a true dual threat and can give many P5 programs trouble. Boston College will be the team chasing Hare around in what could be a signature win for the Huskies this fall.
