Overall Breakdown: The Dave Clawson era is on the hot seat after a devastating 2-10 season in which the Falcons played close, but did not have anywhere enough offense to win more games. The rushing attack was futile averaging only 267 yards, good for last in D-I by almost 16 yards per game. The Falcons were also the 116th best overall offense putting the defense in bad situations resulting in a defense that gave up over 33 points per game. Idaho had a 6-7 record and was still in the running for a bowl until a week 12 loss to Fresno State. The offense was good for the 115th best rushing attack and 10th best passing attack proving to be one of the most one dimensional offenses in the country. The Vandals were in some dogfights versus Colorado State and Fresno State losing both but coming up on top versus San Jose State in OT in the season finale. The Vandals must find a way to somewhat balance the offense to allow the defense more rest and give them a shot at a winning record and a bowl berth. Although BGSU is coming off a 2-10 season in which they were anemic on offense, they are not overmatched versus Idaho. Both teams should be able to score some points and this game may come down to the home field advantage forcing BGSU to travel out west for this matchup. I see Idaho pulling away in the 4th quarter and winning 35-21 in a game that was closer than the final score.
