Overall Breakdown: Things were not well for the San Jose State Spartans in 2010 with the 1-12 record and being outscored by nearly 20 points per game. The one win of the season was against I-AA Southern Utah but the Spartans did lose to another I-AA team in their home loss to UC Davis. Help is on the way in Michigan transfer Tate Forcier but he will not be eligible till the 2012 season. Stanford had an incredible 2010 season that culminated in a blowout win in the Orange Bowl. The Cardinal were a poor second half versus Oregon from getting the chance to play for a national championship. With Heisman favorite Andrew Luck back in the fold, anything short of a top 5 final ranking and a realistic chance to play for the title would be a letdown. This game will be one of the ugly opening games that no one wants to see because of the drastic talent gap between the teams.
