Overall Breakdown: Colorado State was not a very good football program in 2010 as evidenced by their 3-9 record and -18.2 points per game differential. Of the 9 losses, only 1 was by single digits and in many games, they were not even in the game after the 1st quarter. Of the 3 wins in 2010, one was an impressive 24 point win versus 2011 season opener New Mexico. New Mexico could not have been much worse in 2010 than they were. Their only win was a 3 point win versus Wyoming that was sandwiched between an 8 game winning streak and a 3 game winning streak. The Lobos gave up over 40 points 7 times including point totals of 72 versus Oregon, 52 versus Texas Tech, 56 versus Utah, 45 versus UNLV, 48 versus Air Force, 40 versus BYU, and 66 versus TCU. That added up to a -28.5 points per game differential. That is historically bad. While neither team should light the world on fire in 2011, Colorado State is clearly the better team and should be able to take this matchup in similar manner to the 38-14 victory over the Lobos in 2010.
