Overall Breakdown: Ball State had a not so good 2010 in which it won 3 games versus I-A opposition and lost 1 of 2 games versus I-AA opposition. The defense had a tough time stopping opponents giving up over 30 points per game in 2010 including giving up 30+ points in 7 of the 12 games. The offense could not pick up the slack resulting in a -8.4 points per game differential. Indiana had yet another losing record going 5-7 in a weaker Big 10 in 2010. The Hoosiers won all 4 out of conference games versus opposition that were setup wins. The only other win was an OT win over Purdue in the season finale. Indiana were in the running in games against Michigan, Northwestern and Iowa but were outclassed in losing by 28 to Ohio State, 30 to Illinois, 63 (not a misprint) to Wisconsin, and 17 to Penn State. Overall Indiana historically does well versus out of conference non-big 6 teams as evidenced by the perfect 2010 OOC record. Indiana should win this game but it would not be that big of a surprise to see Ball State pull this one out.
