UTEP versus Tulane Preview

3:30 PM ET UTEP at Tulane—UTEP (2-3, 0-2) has not been up to the standard set by 2010’s bowl squad. With 3 wins in 5 games including an overtime win over I-AA Stony Brook and losses in both conference games, it doesn’t seem to be the year of the Miner’s in 2011. The offense has only scored over 30 points twice this season, once being in overtime over a I-AA opponent. Tulane (2-4, 1-1) is on a 3 game losing streak after losing a close game to Syracuse last week. The passing game has been more effective than initially expected with junior quarterback Ryan Griffin throwing for over 250 yards in 3 of the 6 games this season. The running game has struggled so far with sophomore Orleans Darkwa only having one 100 yard rushing game on the season. While UTEP is not as good as last season, they are still better than Tulane and should win somewhat comfortably.
