Rice (4-8, 3-5)—A losing record and a quarterback problem in 2011 doomed the Owls. Now junior Taylor McHargue started the season but never really got in a groove throwing for over 200 yards only once in 8 games play. The Owls were outscored by 10 points per game with 4 games being decided by 20+ points. The Owls have some good defensive recruits that could play immediately for a defense that gave up just over 33 points per game. Rice must find a steady quarterback and solid defensive play to even have a chance at a bowl in 2012.
