Temple leaving the MAC

With all of the conference musical chair, many thought that the game was over until next year. There has been a change in that plan as Temple is leaving the MAC immediately for a $6 million buyout.

Earlier this year after accepting UMass as a member, the MAC put in place new exit provisions stating that any football-only member wishing to leave the conference would need to provide notice two football seasons before departure and pay a fee of $2.5 million. It is not known how Temple and the MAC arrived at the $6 million exit fee

Now, rather than the 14 team conference that the MAC was hoping for, there is an uneven 13 team conference. The question becomes, does the MAC expand again and take another I-AA team, steal from another conference, or stick with 13 teams?
