UAB, a brief look
UAB (3-9, 3-5)--UAB struggled in 2011 on both sides of the ball being outscored by 16 points per game including 4 losses by at least 39 points. The Blazers did pull off two major upsets in beating UCF and top 25 team Southern Miss. Those games seemed so out of character for this squad that it made fans wonder if the right coach was on the sidelines. That is no longer an issue as former Arkansas offensive coordinator Garrick McGee has taken over the sidelines for the Blazers. There is optimism for the first time in years in Birmingham and high but realistic hopes for the first year of the McGee reign.
