UNLV, a brief look

UNLV (2-10, 1-6)--The Rebels had an embarrassing 2011 season mercifully end with a 56-9 drubbing from TCU. The only wins of the season for UNLV were a surprising upset of Hawaii and an upset of Colorado State, a team that was in the midst of a 9-game losing streak of their own at that point. The Rebels were outscored by 27 points per game with only New Mexico having a worse point differential. 8 of the Rebels 10 losses were by 20 or more points including a 52 point loss to an average Washington State squad. The coaching staff led by Coach Hauck has been shuffled a bit and must produce in their second year in Las Vegas or the cycle of coaching changes make start again. Including Hauck, the last 6 coaches for UNLV have a overall losing record coaching the Rebels. The only good news is that similar to New Mexico, things cannot get much worse than 2011 and the Rebels should be a moderately improved squad in 2011.
