UTEP, a brief look

UTEP (5-7, 2-6)--A season opening OT win over I-AA Stony Brook was very indicative of things to come for UTEP in 2011. The Miners were not a bad team but just did not have the ability to make the late game plays that decided games. There were 3 games that UTEP had a serious chance of winning in which the other team made the big plays and won the game as a result. The Miners have recruited well on the defensive side and should be able to improve on a defense that gave up over 30 points per game last season. The Miners are close to a bowl team and have been to multiple bowl games throughout the years but must make the 4^th quarter big plays to win the toss up games in 2012.
