The Ball State Cardinals had a very successful season in 2012 with a 9-4 record and bowl berth in the Beef O' Bradys Bowl. The Cardinals play a very winnable non-conference schedule with none of the four non-conference opponents (Illinois State, Army, North Texas, Virginia) making a bowl game last fall. The Cardinals face 5 MAC teams that made bowl games last fall with home games versus Central Michigan, Toledo, and Kent State while traveling to MAC power Northern Illinois.
