Central Michigan got a surprise bowl berth in 2012 despite only ending the regular season 6-6. The Chippewas took advantage of the invitation and won the Little Caesars Bowl giving them momentum for the future. The Chippewas play an interesting non-conference schedule with trips to Michigan, NC State, and UNLV while hosting FCS opponent New Hampshire. The Chippewas face 4 bowl teams from last fall with 2012 MAC champs Northern Illinois as well as Toledo head to Chippewa country while CMU heads to Ball State and Ohio later in the season. Overall, the Chippewas face 6 bowl teams from 2012.
