Kent State had the best season in school history with an 11-3 record and a bowl berth. The Golden Flashes look to build upon that magical season with a tough non-conference schedule including trips to both LSU and Penn State as well as a trip to South Alabama and a home game versus FCS foe Liberty. The Golden Flashes face 4 MAC teams that made bowl games in 2012 with Northern Illinois, and Bowling Green coming to Dix Stadium while Kent State travels to Ball State and Ohio. Overall, the Golden Flashes face 6 teams with winning records in 2012.
