HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall wide receiver Troy Evans has been charged with four armed robberies near campus.
Huntington police Lt. J. Williams says in a news release that the 21-year-old was arrested Tuesday on the campus without incident. Evans also faces a wanton endangerment charge.
Media outlets report Evans was arrested just after football practice.
Evans was being held Wednesday morning at the Western Regional Jail on $250,000 bond. Jail records didn't show whether he has an attorney.
All four robberies occurred early Sunday morning.
Marshall announced Tuesday night that Evans had been suspended indefinitely from the team for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
Evans caught 21 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns last season. He also was the team's leading punt and kick returner.
