Overall Breakdown: Purdue had a very disappointing 2010 season losing 8 games and failing to make a bowl game. The season started nice winning 4 of their first 6 games but ended with a 6 game losing streak that culminated with a loss to a not so good Indiana team. The offense had trouble staying competitive averaging just under 20 points per game while being outscored by over 9 points per game. MTSU had another season of getting to a bowl game making it the 3rd time in a somewhat short school history of being a D-I program. The biggest negative to the Blue Raiders season was that 4 of the 7 losses were to pretty bad teams including a 1-11 Memphis squad that was routinely blown out last season. This game is a virtual toss up with the home field advantage possibly being the main reason to believe that Purdue will pull it out. Don’t be surprised if either team wins but you never know what will happen in a week one out of conference game.
