Overall Breakdown: While Stony Brook did not make the I-AA playoffs in 2010, they came closer than their record indicates. 3 of their 5 losses were by 7 or fewer points and pulling those three games out would have put the Seawolves in the playoffs. Their one matchup versus a I-A team was a disaster in playing USF to start the 2010 season losing 59-14 and never really being able to match up with the speed, strength and depth of a quality I-A school. UTEP started 2010 in good shape winning 5 of their first 6 games before losing three straight to UAB, Tulane, and Marshall. That was part of losing 6 or their last 7 games and ending the season by getting blown out by BYU in the New Mexico Bowl. The Seawolves of Stony Brook may be able to hang in there for a quarter or even a half but the depth of UTEP should take over and allow the Miners to cruise to victory in the second half. The score may look worse in the end than the game actually was.
