Northwestern versus Army Preview

Northwestern versus Army: Northwestern comes in to this week 3 matchup with a 2-0 record including wins over Eastern Illinois and Boston College. The Wildcats are still without star quarterback Dan Persa who is still recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon sustained in the 2010 season. Sophomore Kain Colter has started in his spot and leads the Wildcats not only in passing but in rushing as well with 80 yards per game and 4 touchdowns. Army is 0-2 after facing two of the better non big 6 teams in the country (Northern Illinois and San Diego State). The Black Knights didn’t seem ready to play in week one getting dominated by MAC power NIU but came back in week two with a very strong effort and nearly beat a very good SDSU squad. Overall, Northwestern is not at full offensive capability without Persa but Colter gives them a stronger running option out of the backfield which looks to do numbers on the Army defense. Northwestern 27-21.
