Week 4 Top 10

1.     Boise State (3-0): The Broncos have started the season with a 3 game winning streak capped by this week’s 41-21 victory over Tulsa that wasn’t even that close. The Broncos have the 8th ranked passing offense in the country behind Heisman candidate Kellen Moore. Previous: Defeated Tulsa 41-21, Next: Nevada.
2.     Houston (4-0): Another game, another huge passing day for Case Keenum and the Cougar offense. The Cougars easily beat Georgia State 56-0 behind the #1 passing offense in the country averaging 446.3 yards passing per game.  Previous: Defeated Georgia State 56-0, Next: UTEP.
3.     Navy (2-1): With an off week following the brutally close loss to #10 South Carolina to prepare for fellow service academy Air Force, this team has a shot at 10 regular season wins. The Midshipmen sport the 4th ranked rushing offense in the country with 358 yards per game on the ground. Previous: Bye Week, Next: Air Force.
4.     TCU (3-1): The 20th ranked team in the country has rebounded quite well from the devastating 50-48 loss to Baylor in the season opener with wins over Air Force, Louisiana Monroe and Portland State. The Horned Frogs rely on their rushing attack which is putting up 218.5 yards per game in the young season. Previous: Defeated Portland State 55-13, Next: SMU.
5.     Temple (2-1): Many teams would have had a hangover after a close loss to Penn State the previous week. Behind the #1 scoring defense in the nation, the Owls destroyed a good Maryland squad winning the game 38-7. The Owls are still having lots of trouble in the passing game but the rushing offense is doing just enough to win. Previous: Defeated Maryland 38-7, Next: Toledo.
6.     SMU (3-1): After getting drilled by Texas A&M in the opener, the Mustangs have bounced back for 3 wins in a row. The passing offense is in the top 15 in the country with 321.3 yards per game in the air. The defense is only giving up an average of 17.5 points per game with that number dropping to 8 points per game allowed since the opener. Previous: Defeated Memphis 42-0, Next TCU.
7.     SDSU (3-1): The Aztecs haven’t made that jump to the elite of non-big 6 teams that everyone has expected this season. With a loss to Michigan in a game versus former coach Brady Hoke, the offensive problems came to light. Previous: Lost to Michigan 28-7, Next: TCU (October 8).
8.     UCF (2-2): The Knights are on a 2 game losing streak after catching national attention with an impressive 2-0 start. The defense has only given up 11 points per game and the offense has not been able to help out with points only ranked 62nd in the country in scoring average. Previous: Lost to BYU 24-17, Next: Marshall.
9.     WMU (2-1): The Broncos get this spot after giving #24 Illinois everything they could handle in a 23-20 loss. This team isn’t incredibly impressive statistically but came within 3 points of a 3-1 start with a loss to Michigan in the opener. Previous: Lost to Illinois 23-20, Next: Connecticut.
10.  Toledo (1-3): I am still holding out hope for the Rockets to get that big win of the season after a controversial loss to Syracuse this weekend. They could easily be 3-1 instead of 1-3 and still have the chance to make waves in the MAC. Previous: Lost to Syracuse 33-30 OT, Next Temple.
