Utah State, a brief look

Utah State (7-6, 5-2)--2011 was an odd season for the Aggies to say the least. There were big expectations for the Aggies with hopes of 9-10 wins and a bowl win. While Utah State did make a bowl, the season did not go as hoped. In the season opener, Utah State had a commanding two score lead with less than 5 minutes left in the game versus then #23 Auburn. Due to a massive choke job, the Aggies lost that game by 4 points. Hoping to shrug off that devastating loss, Utah State did the exact opposite and and lost 4 or their next 6 games and faced a 2-5 hole going into November. A 5-game regular season winning streak saved the season and put the Aggies in a bowl game versus Ohio. They were defeated and finished just one game over .500. The Aggies will rely upon Senior Robert Turbin who ran for over 1500 yards as a junior and over 1200 yards as a sophomore. The passing game was anemic finishing with just under 175 yards in the air per game. With a few breaks going the other way and Utah State learning to finish games, 2012 could be a very special season for the Aggies.
