San Jose State, A brief look

San Jose State (5-7, 3-4)--One of the surprise teams of the 2011 season was San Jose State. A 5-7 record with three losses by 3 or fewer points was very close to bowl eligibility. The Spartans were led by graduating senior Matt Faulkner and averaged over 275 yards per game in the air. SJSU fans were hoping to see Michigan transfer Tate Forcier take over quarterbacking duties but that dream fell apart when Forcier left school due to grades. The Spartans must improve on their points allowed in order to get to a bowl game in 2012. The best case for the Spartans is a weaker WAC conference due to Nevada, Fresno and Hawaii leaving for the MWC.
