Mountain West Divisions

East West
Air Force San Jose State
Boise State Fresno State
Colorado State Hawaii
New Mexico Nevada
Utah State San Diego State
Wyoming UNLV

East:
The East division has what some may consider the top two Non-AQ teams in the nation with Boise State and Utah State calling the division home. The most likely scenario seems to be one of the two teams winning the division with the matchup between the two teams deciding everything. Air Force should finish a solid third with Colorado State, New Mexico, and Wyoming fighting for sports 4-6.

2012 Records:

  • Air Force (6-7, 5-3)
  • Boise State (11-2, 7-1)
  • Colorado State (4-8, 3-5
  • New Mexico (4-9, 1-7)
  • Utah State (11-2, 6-0)
  • Wyoming (4-8, 3-5)
Overall division record: (40-36)

West:
The West division is much more up for grabs than the East with San Jose State, San Diego State, Fresno State, and Nevada all making bowl games. The overall division record could be even better if not for a 10-point lead with 2 minutes left being blown by Nevada in the bowl. Expect to see the unexpected with any of the four teams having a legitimate shot at winning the division with Fresno State being the favorite.

2012 Records:
  • San Jose State (11-2, 5-1)

  • Nevada (7-6, 4-4)
