Recruiting: 08/20/12-08/27/12


Last week was a slow week for commitments with only 9 total commitments on the week. WKU and Utah State were the big winners with 2 commits a piece and WKU bagging a 3-star lineman over Nebraska, Florida, and South Carolina.

Kalei Kauhaahaa LB Murray, UT Juan Diego Catholic 6'0" 220 3 stars--Utah State

Kalei Kauhaahaa is an inside linebacker out of Murray, Utah via Juan Diego Catholic High School. Kauhaahaa is 6-0, 220 pounds and a 3-star recruit according to Rivals recruiting service. Kauhaahaaha been officially timed at 4.70 in the 40 yard dash showing some good speed in the middle of the defense. Kauhaahaa turned down an offer from Arizona in his commitment to Utah State.

08/23/12:
Shaun Rupert DB Montgomery, AL Carver 6'1" 180--Arkansas State
David Moore ATH Matthews, NC Butler 5'10" 175--Ball State
Isaac Tanner LB Tampa, FL Freedom 6'0" 209--Western Kentucky

Shaun Rupert is a 6-1, 180 pound safety out of Montgomery, Alabama via Carver High School who picked Arkansas State for his commitment. Rupert is unranked according to Rivals but is a 2-star recruit according to 247 Sports. Rupert turned down offers from Alabama State, Harvard, NIU, Penn State, South Alabama, South Florida, UAB, UCF, Wake Forest and Wofford.

David Moore is a 5-10, 175 pound athlete out of Matthews, North Carolina via Butler High School who recently committed to Ball State. Moore has been clocked at 4.40 in the 40 yards dash but is no currently rated from any of the recruiting services. At the time of his commitment, the Ball State offer was the only one on the table for Moore.

Isaac Tanner is a 6-0, 209 pound linebacker out of Tampa, Florida via Freedom High School that pledged his services to Western Kentucky. Tanner is not currently rated from any of the major recruiting services but chose WKU over offers from Elon, FAU, FIU, MTSU, North Texas, and Ohio. Tanner had 86 tackles and 5 sacks as a sophomore in 2010.

08/24/12:

Travis Marshall QB Alpharetta, GA Chattahoochee 6'4" 198--Navy
Joe Fennell OL Fort Myers, FL South Fort Myers 6'5" 320 3 stars--Western Kentucky

Tucker Etheridge is a 6-0, 220 pound athlete out of Roswell, Georgia via Blessed Trinity High School that chose Louisiana Tech for his commitment. Etheridge is not currently rated by any of the major recruiting services and may be a great under the radar player for the Bulldogs. Expect Etheridge to get a rating and shoot up the lists with a strong senior year.

Travis Marshall is a 6-4, 198 pound quarterback out of Alpharetta, Georgia via Chattahoochee High School that recently pledged his services to the Naval Academy. Marshall is currently unranked according to rivals but is a 2-star recruit according to 247 Sports. At the time of his commitment, Marshall's only offer was from Navy.

Joe Fennell is a 6-5, 320 pound offensive lineman out of Fort Myers, Florida via South Fort Myers High School that chose Western Kentucky for his college services. Fennell is a 3-star recruit according to Rivals, a 3-star recruit according to 247 Sports and a 4-star recruit according to ESPN. Fennell chose WKU over offers from Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Florida, FAU, Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Florida and West Virginia.

Reuben Mwehla WR Bellevue, WA Bellevue 5'10" 173 2 stars--Idaho
Wyatt Houston QB Hood River, OR Horizon Christian School 6'4" 220 2 stars--Utah State

Reuben Mwehla is a 5-10, 173 pound wide receiver out of Bellevue, Washington via Bellvue High School that recently committed to Idaho. Mwehla is a 2-star recruit according to Rivalsbut surprisingly had no other current offers than Idaho. The Vandals get a solid wide receiver that could be very good down the line for Idaho.

Wyatt Houston is a 6-4, 220 pound quarterback out of Hood River, Oregon via Horizon Christian School that committed to Utah State. Utah State was the first school to offer Houston and Houston committed on the spot for the Aggies. Houston is a 2- star rated recruit according to both Rivals and 247 Sports and is a good pro-style quarterback for the program.
