PM Hawaii at Brigham Young:
This is a Friday night matchup between Hawaii of
the Mountain West Conference and independent Brigham Young. The Hawaii Rainbows
are entering this game at 1-2 with losses to USC and Nevada sandwiching a
dominant win over Lamar. The Warriors are struggling on both offense and
defense with the 90th ranked rushing offense, the 100th ranked passing offense
and the 5th worst scoring defense in the nation. The start to coach Norm Chow's
head coaching career has been rough and looks to be just as bad with a trip to
Provo, Utah. BYU enters this game at 2-2 with a recent 2-game losing streak to
Utah and Boise State. The Cougars are a few plays here and there from being
undefeated. While the BYU offense has been up and down so far this season, the
defense has been spectacular giving up only 12.5 points per game and holding 2
of 4 opponents to fewer than 10 points. This is the 29th overall meeting
between the two schools with BYU holding a dominant 20-8 record versus the
Warriors including 9 of the last 12 meetings. Hawaii has looked flat out bad
this season on both sides of the ball while BYU has struggled on offense with
normally steady Riley Nelson becoming a turnover machine. The BYU defense is
the biggest difference and is the toughest defense the Warriors have met since
the season opener versus USC. Expect BYU to dominate this game versus Hawaii on
defense and pull away in the second half. BYU 35-14.
