Week 5 Preview: Buffalo at Connecticut

Saturday, September 29
12:00 PM Buffalo at Connecticut:

This is a matchup between Buffalo of the Mid American Conference and Connecticut of the Big East. This is the 19th overall matchup between the two programs with UConn holding a 13-5 overall series advantage. The Buffalo Bulls enter this matchup at 1-2 after getting dominated by conference foe Kent State last Wednesday night on ESPN. The Bulls are a run first team led by running back Branden Oliver who has 426 yards rushing on the season with 3 touchdowns. Oliver was injured recently and is questionable versus UConn. The UConn Huskies enter this game at 2-2 with one of the weakest offenses in the nation. The Huskies are 89th or worse in passing and rushing offense and 94th nationally with 23 points scored per game. UConn has been able to get to 2-2 behind a strong defense that has only given up 15.3 points per game. This is a tossup game that Buffalo could easily win if they have a 100% Branden Oliver on their side. I say Oliver plays but is not 100% with the Bulls losing a hard fought defensive game versus UConn.
