Week 6 Preview: Bowling Green versus Akron


2:00 PM Bowling Green at Akron:
This is a matchup of Mid American Conference teams in the Bowling Green Falcons and the Arkon Zips. Bowling Green enters this game at 2-3 on the season with wins over Idaho and Rhode Island. The Falcons struggled in their only MAC game losing 27-15 to Toledo. The Falcons are putting up nearly 370 yards per game of offense but score only 19.6 points per game ranking them 113th nationally. The Falcons have been solid on defense with only Virginia Tech scoring over 30 points. This is the19th overall meeting between the two schools with Bowling Green holding an 11-7 series advantage overall. Akron enters this game at 1-4 on the season with an 0-1 MAC record. The Zips have the 5th ranked passing game in the nation with 361 yards coming in the air per game. The rushing game has not been that impressive with only 130 yards per game on the ground. Akron is the 25th highest scoring team in the country with 38.6 points scored per game including 49 last week. The Zips defense has been brutal this fall giving up 41.2 points per game with 40+ points scored per game by every opponent other than Morgan State. Bowling Green is the better overall team but this Akron offense is clicking on all cylinders recently and may be tough to stop. Bowling Green 35-28.
