Week 6 Preview: Kent State versus Eastern Michigan

1:00 PM Kent State at Eastern Michigan:
This is a matchup of Mid American Conference teams in the Kent State Golden Flashes and The Eastern Michigan Eagles. Kent State enters this matchup at 3-1 on the season including 2-0 in MAC play. The Golden Flashes are putting up 385 yards of offense behind a running game that has saw a boost getting Dri Archer more involved. The Golden Flashes are putting up just over 30 points per game scoring 40+ two separate times. The Kent State defense looked good versus Buffalo but has given up over 40 points in two of the last three weeks. The Eastern Michigan Eagles enter this game at 0-4 including an 0-1 record in the MAC. EMU is ranked 100th or worse in passing and rushing the ball and only put up 15.8 points per game. That lowly total is good for the 8th worst scoring offense in the nation. The Eagles are just as bad on defense giving up 36.6 points per game with EMU only holding one opponent under 30 points. This is the 30th overall meeting between the two schools with Kent State holding a 16-13 overall series lead. Kent State has been playing some solid football this fall excluding the second half versus Kentucky. The Golden Flashes dominated Buffalo and then won in a shootout versus a talented Ball State team last week. Expect Kent State to control this game versus an EMU team that might be getting away from its coach. Kent State 38-21.
