Coming off of an 8-5 season and bowl berth in 2012, the Falcons look to build upon a successful season with a very ambitious non-conference schedule in 2013. The Falcons face Conference USA champions Tulsa at home as well as FCS foe Murray State while traveling to Big 10 up and coming team Indiana as well as SEC opponent Mississippi State. Conference play gives the Falcons a bit of a break as Bowling Green faces 2012 bowl teams in only 4 of 8 conference games. The Falcons end up with 6 of their 12 games versus 2012 bowl teams but miss out on 2012 MAC winner Northern Illinois.
