Coming off of a great recruiting season, the Marshall Thundering Herd managed a very reasonable non-conference slate with trips to Ohio and Virginia Tech while hosting Miami OH and Gardner-Webb. The Thundering Herd face three 2012 bowl eligible teams in MTSU, Tulsa, and ECU but see much more manageable games versus teams that either had a losing record or were transitional teams in 2012. Marshall could make a run with an improved defense or crash and burn in similar fashion to 2012.
