According to 247 sports, the Eagles are the 100th ranked recruiting class in the nation, ranking them 6th in the MAC, right behind rivals Central Michigan. EMU was all over the country signing up players for the 2015 season with 24 commits coming from an astounding 14 different states including Kentucky, South Carolina, Wyoming and Arizona. Michigan and Florida both saw 4 commits, giving those two states 1/3 of the commit list.

The Eagles suffered through another tough season in 2014 with a 2-10 overall record and 1-7 MAC record. The only wins on the season were over FCS program Morgan State and conference foe Buffalo. EMU gave up 30 or more points in 8 of their 12 games and are still without a winning record since 1995. The Eagles went 6-6 in 2011.
