According to 247, the Bobcats have the 87th overall ranked recruiting class in the nation, ranking the Texas school 4th in the Sun Belt Conference. Texas State currently has an impressive 24 commits with 6 of those earning 3-star rankings for their skill. The Bobcats earned commits from six different states, led by in-state with 17 prospects coming from Texas as well as a recruit coming from the northeast in Rhode Island.

Texas State is coming off of a 7-5 season that ended with a 54-31 win over Georgia State in the season finale. Due to the Sun Belt's lack of bowl options, the Bobcats were not selected for a bowl in 2014. Texas State ended the season 5-3 in the Sun Belt with wins over Arkansas State, Georgia State, New Mexico State, UL Monroe and Idaho. The 2015 season should be an interesting season for the Bobcats as they have a great chance to compete for their first bowl berth in school history.
