Overall Breakdown: Florida Atlantic was lucky in 2010 to even get to 4 wins after being outscored by nearly 13 points per game last fall. Of their 4 wins in 2010, 3 of them were by 1 point a piece leaving very little margin for error. The Owls will be saying a fond farewell to coaching legend Howard Snellenberger who will be retiring at the conclusion of the season after putting in so much time at several schools and bringing the Florida Atlantic program into the mainstream. Florida saw the end of their own era in 2010 with the retirement of coach Urban Meyer. The squad could not seem to find its identity in the post Tebow aftermath in Gainesville with quarterback John Brantley not being an ideal fit for the spread attack of Meyer. In comes former Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp who looks to play more of a pro style offensive philosophy that while it fits Brantley much better than the spread, is not exactly set up for the smaller quick skill position players that thrive on getting freedom on the perimeter. Florida should be able to win this matchup fairly easily and test out a few different players at different positions and figure out how to be utilize their lineup for 2011.
