NIU, a brief look

Northern Illinois (11-3, 7-1)--With a 2-3 record after 5 games, things looked rough for the Huskies last season. NIU responded with winning their next 9 games including an 18-point win over Sun Belt champion Arkansas State in the Godaddy.com Bowl. The biggest worry for the Huskies is the loss of superstar quarterback Chandler Harnish who threw for more than 8900 yards and nearly 3000 yards in his career for the NIU Huskies. There was a little bit of coaching issues with PJ Fleck taking the offensive coordinator job but resigning a day later to take an NFL job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 2012 looks to be a bit of a rebuilding year but with NIU, it tends to be more reloading than rebuilding.
