Week 5 Preview: Louisiana Tech versus Virginia

Saturday, September 29
3:30 PM Louisiana Tech at Virginia:
This is a matchup between the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs of the Western Athletic Conference and Virginia of the ACC. Louisiana Tech enters this game at 3-0 with a scary good offense that puts up 54.7 points per game scoring at least 52 points in all three games. The Bulldogs have two running backs with over 240 yards rushing led by Tevin King's 369 yards and 5 touchdowns on 8.0 yards per carry. Quarterback Colby Cameron is averaging just over 300 yards per game and is on pace to set a career high in passing yards midway through the season. The defense is a huge liability and could be the sticking point to a possible undefeated run. Virginia enters this game at 2-2 with an average offense that is more pass oriented with 253 yards per game coming in the air. The Cavaliers have lost their last two games by a combined 83-27 to Georgia Tech and TCU. This is the first ever meeting between the two schools. Virginia looked good in the opening two games of the season although they were outplayed in a win over Penn State in week 2. Once the competition increased, the scores started turning in the opposite direction with Virginia getting drilled the last two weeks. The Bulldogs are right at the level of the last two weeks and it is very unlikely that Virginia can handle the Louisiana Tech offense. Louisiana Tech 52-21.
