PM Nevada at Texas State:
This
is a matchup between the Nevada Wolfpack of the Mountain West Conference and the
Texas State Bobcats of the Western Athletic Conference. Nevada enters this game
at 3-1 with a 1-point loss versus South Florida keeping the Wolfpack from being
undefeated. Nevada is a great rushing team led by runnning back Stefphon
Jefferson who had an NCAA leading 699 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns on the
season. The Wolfpack are putting up 44 points per game ranking them 12th
nationally. Nevada struggles on defense giving up at least 24 points per game
to every opponent this season. Texas State enters this game at 2-1 with a win
over FCS opponent Stephen F. Austin and a surprising win over Houston to start
the season. The Bobcats are a running oriented team that uses a stable of running
backs to gain yardage for the Texas State offense. The defense has struggled
getting acclimated to the FBS giving up 36.0 points per game including 58 in a
loss to Big 12 member Texas Tech. Expect Texas State to score some points on
the Nevada defense but there is little hope for the Bobcats to hand with
Jefferson and company. Nevada 48-24.
