Week 6 Preview: Navy versus Air Force

Saturday, October 6
11:30 AM Navy at Air Force:
This is a matchup that is part of the Commander-in-Chief cup between the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy. Navy comes into this game at a disappointing 1-3 on the season with the sole win over FCS foe Virginia Military Institute. The Midshipmen are the 5th worst passing team in the nation but are only the 24th best rushing team with a disappointing 216 yards on the ground per game. The Midshipmen have been equally disappointing on defense and taking out the win over VMI, Navy is giving up 32 points per game on the season. Air Force comes in at 2-2 but have a disappointing loss to UNLV on the schedule so far. The Falcons are the nation's top rushing team with 396 yards on the ground per game with the 3rd worst passing attack in the nation. Air Force is led by pint-sized running back Cody Getz who has 683 yards rushing and 7 touchdowns on the season. This is the 45th meeting between these two storied programs with Air Force holding the overall series edge 27-17 with wins in the last two meetings. This is a tough game to pick because Navy's defense has shown signs of playing much better but Air Force's run game is so hard to stop. Expect a game in the 20s that Air Force pulls out late. Air Force 29-21.
