Week 7 Preview: Western Michigan versus Ball State

Saturday, October 13
3:00 PM Western Michigan at Ball State:
This is a Mid American Conference matchup between the Western Michigan Broncos and the Ball State Cardinals. The Broncos enter this game at 3-3 on the year but a confidence building blowout win over UMass last week. WMU has a very nice passing attack led by quarterback Alex Carder but running the ball and turnovers have been their downfall. This is a huge swing game for the Broncos with a tough next few weeks coming up. Ball State also enters this game at 3-3 on the season but are on a 2-game losing streak after their huge win over South Florida weeks ago. The Cardinals have a great offense led by Keith Wenning's 1700+ yards passing but give up a horrible 37.3 points per game ranking them 112th nationally in scoring defense. With both Toledo and Ohio on the back end of the schedule, this is an important game for bowl chances. This is the 39th overall meeting between the two schools with WMU holding a 21-17 overall series advantage including the last two meetings. Expect many points to be scored with these two high-powered offenses being surrounded by some very poor defense from the opponents. WMU 45-42.
