Bowling Green State University versus Miami (OH) Preview

Bowling Green at Miami (OH)—After comfortably winning the first two games of the season, the Falcons were edged 28-27 by Wyoming essentially losing on a blocked extra point attempt. Quarterback Matt Schilz is leading this offense with 328 yards passing per game to go along with 11 touchdowns in 3 games to start the season. The offense is putting up 29 points per game while the much improved defense is only giving up 28.7 points per game putting them square in the top 40 in the country. Miami is 0-2 after road losses to #21 Missouri and to Minnesota. The offense is struggling to put points on the board only averaging 14.5 good for 109th in the nation. The rushing offense is the main culprit with only 78 yards on the ground per game in the early part of this season. The defense is not playing bad but must be on its toes for a Bowling Green team that is rolling offensively. This is the conference opener for both squads and they both want to start the MAC season on a high note. It looks like Miami will have too much trouble stopping this potent offense of the Falcons and lose a tight game. Bowling Green 31-28.

  1. Miami will win this one by 2 or 3 touchdowns at a minimum. The difference in competition played by the two teams so far is huge.
