Overall Breakdown: Central Michigan is coming off of a 3-9 season in which they lost 5 games by 7 points or fewer. The Chippewas started their 2011 season with an ugly 21-6 in over I-AA opponent South Carolina State. The offense was not very impressive but did enough to hide behind a tough defense that only gave up 137 yards of total offense and 11 first downs to SC State. CMU needs to find some offense this week in preparation for a UK defense that played very well in their opener. Kentucky needs to find some offensive players to replace Cobb, Hartline, Matthews and Locke if the Wildcats expect to go bowling again in 2011. The Wildcats were outplayed and if WKU had any sort of passing game UK would be going into week 2 with an 0-1 record. The strength is the defense with Trevathan and Guy who both had over 100 tackles and Trevathan even led the SEC in tackles. UK should control this game and dominate the game on defense. CMU will be stout on defense but struggle to score points and lose to the Wildcats in a score somewhere in the range of 28-7 or 31-13.

  1. CMU does have the big play threat passing...What about UK?

  2. While UK did not have many yards passing, there were two or three opportunities for large gains that were complete drops. There is the talent that could make big plays but in week one they were not able to put it together and connect the passes. Expect a more crisp and volatile passing game versus CMU.
