Overall Breakdown: Florida Atlantic did not get Howard Snellenberger’s final season off to a good start with a drubbing by the hands of Florida. The Owls only managed 137 yards of total offense in a pitiful performance. Things will not get any better with #17 Michigan State playing host on September 10th in a replay of a game that FAU only lost 30-17 in 2010. This FAU team is much worse than the 2010 squad so things could get ugly. Michigan State got things off to a good, if somewhat disappointing, start with a 28-6 win over I-AA Youngstown State. The Spartans may have been overlooking the Penguins as evidenced by the 14-6 halftime score and the fact that the game never really got out of hand. The Spartans, led by senior quarterback Kirk Cousins, look to take some frustrations out on FAU and may make this game ugly very quickly. Look for Michigan State to score early and often and put this game out of reach by halftime. I would not be surprised with a 55-7 or 45-3 type of score in favor or the Spartans.
