Overall Breakdown: Florida International put to rest all of the doubters that thought the 2010 season may have been a flash in the pan rather than the beginning of excellence with a dominant in-conference performance versus a much improved North Texas. T.Y. Hilton picked up where he left off last season earning Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week honors with 49 yards rushing, 132 yards receiving (1 TD), and a 62 yard kickoff return for a total of 283 all purpose yards in the opening game. Winston Fraser led the defense with 11 tackles including 1 for a stop in week one. Louisville started out the week one matchup on fire scoring 21 early points on I-AA squad Murray State. That would be all the points the Cardinals scored in a sloppy 21-9 win. The offense was a spread out effort in which no one really stood out. Defensively, Dexter Heyman and Preston Brown combined for 24 tackles (12 per) with Heyman also pulling in an interception. FIU is currently a 4 point favorite giving the Golden Panthers a chance to win a statement game versus a Big East opponent.
Louisville is a 4 point favorite, not FIU
ReplyDeleteFIU will be the favorite after the game, lol
